This one took a major toll on my sanity AND put me half a month behind. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to do two super-ambitious drawings AND change up my layout all in the same comic. I did the pencil sketches for it while on an airplane to Sweden back in 2007 and have been hanging on to them ever since. The color panel is one of my many attempts to draw what coding feels like. The finished version still doesn't quite capture what I was going for but maybe it's interesting? That's a Hubble Space Telescope picture of Stephan's Quintent, a group of colliding galaxies, in the background there.

I have the feeling the magical code puppeteering shot will be echoed at some point, either when she goes to the dark side or meets her evil nemesis. :P It works really well!

Thumbs up to the visual representation of coding. Makes me wonder how one would abstract what it feels like to write a research paper.
